Wow its been forever!

Wow, its been forever since I have posted anything.  So this year has been a long and stressfull one for us.  Kevin had back surgery in July.  He has been off work and its been killing him.  He is hoping to go back this next week.  Let me tell you that would be great.  He has been having to deal with healing, not working, and not really being able to move for a long time.  So I think he is excited about going back to work too.  Financially it will be wonderful to have him working again.

We put Ayden in preschool for one more year.  Which I think was the best choice we could have ever made.  He is doing so much better then last year and really getting a hang of his words, letters and numbers.  Christmas is upon us and he is wanting everything.  Its funny in a way.  So much different then when I was a kid.

Hanna is doing really good in school and is no longer in speech classs.  She is confusing her S's which is common for kids.  We just found out that her mom is going to get married.  We are very happy for her.  She deserves to be happy.  From the sounds of it Hanna is pretty excited to have Eddie as a stepdad.

I am doing ok.  As I said this has been a very stressful year with Kevin being laid up.  The parent committee is doing great, I have wonderful friends in the community.  We went to the Banits for a Halloween Party.  The kids had so much fun.  We have a Holiday Party at the Korfhage's this coming weekend.  All in all I very very Merry!

Oldie but Goodie

This is an oldie but goodie.  Yes that is me holding the balloons.  We were at Cherokee Park.  We actually thought we were hikers when we went down by the falls.  L to R is Jake, Charlotte, Lynn (Me) Bottom Row Gerry and Theresa.

Plus a few others these were my best friends.  I didn't do anything without them.  I had to be in about 10th grade in this picture.  I think that my sister was taking the picture of us because I swear she was with too.  I have to say that we used to have the best times together.  I had learned so much from all of these people.  They might not be in my life now but still back then they were the best part of my life.  I have to Thank these people for sticking by my side when I probably needed them the most.

What September Brings!

September was the start of Preschool for Ayden.  He was so excited.  He picked out his back pack and headed off to expand his horizons.  I have to say that I teared up and was nervous.  What ifs were all I was thinking of.  Plus I couldn't be there since we were short work staff.  So I called in the next best person.  My sister.  She went to daycare to wait for the bus with Ayden and take some pictures.  I am so lucky to have her.  He had the best day and loves to do to Preschool but in his eyes next year is when REAL school starts.

GIRLZ WEEKEND- Breezy Point 2009

In July us girls got together for our annual GIRLZ WEEKEND. You just have to love those weekends where you don't have to worry and you can drink, have fun and SHOP!!!

This year we went to Breezy Point and I have to say there was a lot of shops. Good food and Lots of Drinking. Like most old people we stayed in on Friday. We all sat around and played cards and had some drinks. It was fun. Then Saturday we shopped for most of the day. Then that night Kim did most of our hairs so we would look HOT. Then we tore up the town. OK we went to the resort bar where Elvis was in the house and then another band played after that. It was so much fun. We drank and drank and drank. Seriously I can't remember the last time I drank that much and still felt good.

I just have to say that for as much fun I had with the girls it was nice to come home to my boys!

A few words

I know I have been slacking I think because I want to write about more then just the family. Its always been my dream to write a book one day. I have so many stories and things that I just dream up but I can't ever get them to sound nor look good on paper. I think for me that is just so frustrating. I would love to write a children's book something that Ayden can read and then read to his kids.

We live in the country now. I am so loving it. I wonder if that is where I should have always been. I don't really think of myself as a city girl. I love the slowness. Waking up in the morning to the birds chirps and the well running. Oh don't forget that accidental oops to the thermostat.... I think that kids turned the heat up to 80. I want to sit back tonight and drink a beer on the deck and watch the boats go by. That is how I think that life should be. I know that my kids love it.

Life around our house is getting easier. As the days go by I get more and more boxes put away. I just can't wait until my house feels like my house. It kind of still feels like someone elses.

I guess I should get back to work and try to finish out this day.
Thanks for reading

Week 5- What does YYY means to me?

YYY (YADA YADA YADA) means a to me a small little family that I have come to trust and ask my crazy questions too. These are women that I have chatted with through YYY for years... Almost 4. Most of us started with Babycenter and ended with YYY. I am glad that I have women that are going through the same things that I am going through with Ayden. We have had out ups and downs but some how we always come back together. Thank you ladies

Time Goes By

I am amazed by the fact that I will have an 8 year old and a 4 year old. Where did the time go. I know that I came into Hanna's life when she was 3 years old. 5 years wow.... I am so proud of both of my kids. I am amazed by the things that they have taught me. My patience is so much better... still not a 100% but still :)

I am so honored that I have the chance to be in Hanna's life. That I love her father and that I think that she has a great mom. With Hanna I got the little girl that I always wanted. Someone to dress up and do girl things with.

Ayden is my life line. He is my mini-meee. We laugh the same, look so much alike. The crazy looks that we both do. We laugh at the same things. He makes me smile. He makes me laugh and there has been that time when he was born and he made me cry.
My baby is going to be 4 years old. Then he will be 5 year old and off to school he will go.

Wow Time Goes By!

Week 4- Favorite Cause

I care about so many causes that its so hard to just pin point just one that I care about. Children would probably be the first. Anything that effects the kids.

Week 3 - Favorite Recipe

Crockpot Angel Chicken

Throw the following ingredients into crockpot:
6-8 large frozen chicken breasts, or equivalent chicken tenders (Don't need to thaw first. Can use fresh if you want, but I love this recipe because you can just throw things from your freezer into your crockpot!)
1 small tub or block of cream cheese (I use fat-free)
1 can Campbell's golden mushroom soup (I don't even like mushrooms, but it doesn't taste "mushroom" at all. If you use cream of chicken or something it's not at all the same. This is something I wouldn't substitute unless you have a 'shroom allergy.)
1 packet Italian dressing mix (just the powder, don't mix it with anything)
1/2 cup white cooking wine
1/4 stick butter
a drizzle of canola oil

Cook in crock on low all day or high about 4 hours. Serve over angel hair pasta

This is the best recipe ever....... given to me from my mommy's board

Week 2: Favorite Picture

I found so many that I love and the reasons why I love them. So I choose two.
Of course my soul mate Kevin. I am so honored to have him in my life. No matter what life throws at me I know that I have Kevin by myside .

Hanna and Ayden. My kids. I never thought that I would have one child but now I have two. I love them so much.

2009!!!!!!!

Well its a brand new year and I hope this one is a good one. Not that my years have not been good but I would like this one to be the best. I have to get back into shape and I would like to do that before the Summer. Now I just have to get motivated. Why can't it just be easy like you say you are going to work out and you just do it instead of sitting in front of the computer or Tv and not doing a thing. So that is my goal right now. I want to be able to race up and down the street with Ayden and not die in the process.... So now just have to figure on what I have to do to get ther....hmmmmmm

Our New Years was nice and quiet well except for the horns that Ayden was blowing. He was so excited that it was New Years even though he didn't know what it meant. It was still really cute.

When I was younger and without kids I did a program called Big Brother/Big Sister. Candice was 11 when I met her and here she is 23. Wow where did the time go. She is still living in Milwaukee and is still going to college. She is coming up this weekend and going to introduce me to the guy she is going to one day marry. I am so proud of her and she is doing so good in life. I love and cherish all the time that we spent together. I am also glad that I am still involved in her life. I will post some pictures after this weekend.... I so can't wait.

So far that is all that is going on in our lives right now....

What to write!

Christmas is upon us and I am so greatful that its almost over. We are spending out Christmas morning with the kids and I am so excited to see their faces as they open up presents from us and Santa Clause. I tend to some what over do it but I think that I am compensating for my own childhood. We never got much because my parents were poor. I really think that is why I want to give my kids so much. I know that there are other kids out there that would benfit from it too. I just want my kids to be happy and glad for the things that they do get. I have not heard from them the things that they wanted and didn't get. I think that they are generally happy for just the smallest things. In fact I bought myself an ice scrapper, living in Minnesota that is one thing you do need. So it was in the car when I picked up Ayden. He wanted to see what it was and I explained to him on how to use it.... He was so happy that I bought it that he shouted, "Mom I love my new gift"..... Silly boy!

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful and safe Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving and everything else in between!

This is my favorite time of year. Good food and family fun. Thanksgivig we spent at my in-laws. It was nice to see everyone. The kids love going to grandma/grandpa's. We ate and then watched some football. The kids were actually pretty good. SHOCK!

Then Friday we had some running around to do and then I went out with my brother and sisters. Carrie and I were drinking and Addie was a sober driver. Its nice when you know that you can drink and be safe. We had a semi-reunion at Sarna's in Columbia Heights. Pretty nice place.

Now its December and Ayden is waiting for the snow to start falling. We can't wait to get out there!

Christmas is on its way. I can't wait for that day.....

I know I know

Its been forever since I have added anything. Time is just getting away from me. Everyday and Every night is a new thing. Ayden is happy and growing so fast. Hanna is doing great in school. But they are both excited for Christmas. We have fun crafts that we are going to do. Then its the Christmas tree that will be put up the weekend of Thanksgiving. Ayden hopes for snow everyday. He is so bummed that we have none. I am not as excited about the snow as he is. I do love this time of year. Amounst family and friends and Christmas movies on Family Channel and Hallmark Channel. We do plan on getting together with friends and family for some sledding parties (that is if it snows).

I am getting my list out and checking it twice. Going to make sure that Hanna and Ayden and always so nice. My kids are finally at the age where they are both very excited about Santa. Ayden thinks that he is so cool...lol

Minnehaha Falls

We have gone down to the Falls twice this year. Both days were just great. The kids love going down there. Ayden wants to ride the bikes (maybe next time). This summer we have really been doing things as a family. With a lot of outdoor activities. I think that the kids have really enjoyed out family time too.

Camping with Carol and Nathan!

So what have we been doing this summer well 8/22 I brougt Ayden camping for the first time. He absolutely loved it. We went with Carol an Nate and had a blast with them. I loved that fact that Carol and I got in some good friend time. Ayden loved that fact that he got to run everywhere. They got to play games and Ayden got to spend time with his cousins even though now he has added some that aren't really his cousins but I think that he thought everyone was his family. It was just great. I am just so glad that I got to spend that time with Ayden.

I'm Turning 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is when Ayden was born. I woke up at about 11:30pm 7/28/05 and my water was breaking. I tell you it was the weirdest but coolest feeling ever. I woke up Kevin while I was running to the bathroom. He quickly got on the phone to the hospital (Unity) to find out if we should come in right away. I was laughing. I knew the time was coming when I was finally going to meet my baby. I drove to the hospital... we got there and check in. During that time it was already the 29th. I asked what the date was, when I told I realized that Ayden as born on my dad's birthday... Funny. So finally at about 5:30 am the nurse came in to tell me that they were going to try to speed things up with some good ole Pitocin (hate that stuff) to get me to have contractions. I had Kevin, Carrie (my sister), Addie (my sister) and Renee (Kevin's sister) all in the room with me. I made some cry and others think twice about having kids (Addie). I was begging for an epidural. I still was not dialated to 4 yet. That was at about 3pm on the 29th. Finally the doctor came in and new that there was something going on. For all those hours in hard labor I was not dialating to anything. The doctor then decided to do an emergency c-section. I got my epidural and I felt so good after that... I remember the nurse asking me if I was ok after the epidural and I love I couldn't feel anything and that was great. :) They had decided that Ayden was caught on something but unsure of what really. Into surgery I went. Kevin was admitted in. Everyone else waited. By that time my mom was there too. 7:56pm 7/29/05 Ayden Timothy Peterson was born to Parents Lynn and Kevin Peterson and sister Hanna Peterson.

I don't think that I have ever been happier in my whole life. There has been happy very happy moments in my life but the moment that you have a child and you look at that childs face.... There is nothing like that feeling.

Milestones before he was 1 years old were~
He started crawling at about 5 months old.
Walking about 9.5 months old

Ayden was about a year old here. I don't have the actually picture yet. Grandma Peterson is looking for one for me. I didn't have a digital at that time.

This is when I turned 2 years old and my whole family celebrated with me.
I learned how to ride a bike when I was 2.
I could climb a fence at 2.
I am a man on the go and no one can hold me down :)

Now this month I am going to turn 3 years old.....OH BOY!!!!

Ayden is turning 3 years old on July 29......

Here are some pictures of his big moments

My sisters and brothers

So this is my sister Carrie, my brother Tim and I. We are so close. I also have a sister Addie and a brother Jerry that are not pictured. Carrie, Tim and I are close. I guess as close are siblings can get. We call each other. If we haven't heard from one of us then we call. Its usually Tim that we have to call. We like getting together and getting our kids together. I just want to say how much I care and love them
